Bareboat vs crewed charter

A bareboat is a small sailing yacht rented without crew, suited to experienced skippers on short passages. A crewed charter — the service LYC Mediterranean arranges — is a fully staffed private yacht with everything included except running costs.

What types of boat are available

Motor yachts (30–60m) for pace and comfort, sailing yachts (25–50m) for time under sail, catamarans (20–30m) for shaded sociable weeks, and superyachts (60m+) for larger groups. LYC Mediterranean arranges each category across the Western and Eastern Mediterranean.

How pricing works

The weekly base fee covers the boat and its crew. Running costs — fuel, provisioning, beverages, marina fees, communications, taxes — are handled through an Advance Provisioning Allowance and typically add 25–35% on top of the base fee.
