Contract framework

Most yachts hire under the MYBA charter agreement — the industry-standard contract. The base fee covers the yacht and crew; running costs are managed through an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) topped up during the week.

Guest count and layout

The MCA cap on charter guests is 12 while at sea. Cabin configuration (masters, VIPs, doubles, twins) matters more than raw length — a smaller yacht with the right layout beats a longer one that sleeps a group uncomfortably.

Pre-charter briefs

Before embarkation, LYC circulates a preference sheet — dietary requirements, favourite drinks, activity interests — so the yacht is provisioned to the group rather than to a generic manifest.
